Who it is for

Community colleges and universities in the US and Colombia serving low-income and first-generation students, including rural and tribal colleges, especially institutions that cannot afford enterprise data platforms or large data teams.

What we build together

One place for student data

A data warehouse that brings information from existing systems, such as the student information system, learning management system (LMS), admissions, and financial aid, into one place.

Dashboards for better questions

Views of enrollment, retention, course success, and equity gaps that help staff see what is happening across the institution.

Early-alert views

Practical views for advisors to spot students who may need timely support, with decisions remaining in the hands of the school's staff.

Ongoing maintenance

Support to keep data flows and dashboards working as the school's systems and questions change.

Staff training

Training so the school's own people can run, interpret, and update the tools.

How we keep the work accessible

We start with the systems a school already has and consider open-source and low-cost cloud tools. The goal is infrastructure that its staff can maintain without a large data team. Redemption Journey does not sell this service. The program is supported by donations and grants, so what we can offer depends on available funding.

How it starts

  1. 01

    An introductory conversation

We listen to the questions your college needs its data to answer.

  2. 02

A review of current systems and data

Together we look at existing systems, available data, and the staff who use them.

  3. 03

    A first warehouse and dashboard

We identify a useful starting point for bringing data together and making it understandable.

  4. 04

    Staff training and support

We work with your staff to maintain and update the tools as needs change.

Student data stays under school agreements

Any work with student data would operate under each school's data agreements and applicable privacy requirements, including FERPA in the US and Ley 1581 de 2012 in Colombia. The school retains responsibility for access and decisions about its data. For tribal colleges, we also follow the college's own tribal data governance policies.
